For nine decades, the St. Louis Car Company produced horsecars, cable cars, primitive electric streetcars, interurban cars, subway cars, trolley buses, and main line passenger and freight cars. As needed, the company also built gasoline and electrically powered buses, aircraft, automobiles, boats, and military vehicles in WWII. The first part of this book sets the rapid growth and long decline of the company in its social and economic context. The second part treats the company's products in great technical detail with a comprehensive list of vehicles built, with notes on subsequent sales, re-numberings, re-buildings, and conversions. Over 400 photographs. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket. No International Sales.
