Board of Education Inspectors Library copy, with expected inserts and inscriptions. Rough-cut pages. Black and white illustrated and photographic plates. Presented as prize by author; pen inscription noting this to front free endpaper. Light foxing and tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Light cracking to gutters and hinges, exposing netting, but binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with visible sunning and scuffing overall. Spine has similar sunning with soft crushing to ends. Gilt lettering is noticeably darkened. Book has a slight forward lean.
