Macmillan & Co, 1898. Book. Good. hardback. hardback, octavo, pictorial oatmeal wove cloth lettered red. Top edge gilt, fore-edge rough-trimmed. The cloth has darkened but with some mottled fading to the spine, the binding remains tight. Bookplate of a previous owner on the front pastedown, the body of the text is clean and unmarked, title page ruled red, b&w illustrations throughout, xvi + 470pp.
