Near Fine, bookplate removal remnants front paste down, a few small rubs at tips. Part of the Broadway Translation Series, undertaken by Routledge and Dutton between 1923-1930, with 51 titles issued. "This new series offers to English-speaking lovers of good books translations of great authors of the past. The texts are taken from existing translations where such are available and are of a high degree of excellence. If no translation has before been made, or, where made, is of inferior quality, a new version has been undertaken. It is intended that every volume shall be a contribution to the Literature of Translation."(Times Literary Supplement, April 5, 1923).
