After the success of this series, the Quennell's went on to publish other 'Everyday Things' books, covering topics such as Prehistoric times and ancient Greece. This set comprises of: 'A History of Everyday Things in England 1066-1499', with a half title page, colour frontispiece, numerous vignette illustrations, and thirty-nine plates, in both colour and monochrome. Collated complete. Collated complete. In the publisher's original, full cloth binding. Externally very smart with some light shelf wear to the edges. Some light fading to the spines. The odd small mark to the boards. Some light scattered spots to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Offsetting to the free endpapers of volume two. The original, unclipped dust wrappers are in smart condition. Some shelf wear and chipping to the edges. Some loss to the upper spine of volume three. Fading to the spines. Marks to the panels. Mark to the lower rear panel of volume four. Some scattered spots to the inside of the dust wrappers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean with the odd handling mark throughout. Page 179 of volume four is uncut. Light spotting to the fore-edges. Very Good Indeed

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
