Each volume with color frontis painted portraits of various English monarchs and two sections of plates bearing color photos of people and scenes described in the book. With a foreword by Richard J. Evans and an introduction by Peter Rowland. --- Handsomely bound in full brown buckram cloth-covered boards with spine titling & horizontal rules in gilt, each cover blocked with reproduction of a period coin, bearing the image of various monarchs. This hefty set is housed in a shared brown paper-covered slipcase. --- An about-Fine, well-preserved set lacking markings or significant damages. Slipcase also in great shape. This is another great 5 volume set of English History from a Whig and political view from a standpoint other than the what you normally would read.I would love it in my collection and may have to seriously entertain its purchase.C.E.HUGGINS RARE BOOKS
