London, John Van Voorst, 1843 1st. 3 volumes; Hardback, 9 x 5.5 inches. Bound in original Original grey / green cloth lettered in gold on spines. Yellow endpapers. In very good conditions. Some minor rubbing on edges, a few faint minor marks, corners lightly bumped. Inside each volume on front endpapers have Private bookplate & owners small stamp (Innes Watson), volume has inscription on front endpaper. Each volume has small half removed name inscription head of each title page. Else pages all clean, crisp and tight throughout. 587, 655 & 651pp. Illustrated by 535 B&W Wood-Engravings. This "History" was an immediate success, and is illustrated with many fine engravings by various artists. Yarrell was a conscientious compiler and editor, and this work belongs in every serious collection of bird books.

The village has a by-pass now which means there is easy access to the village and ample space for parking. Our shop is directly on the main road through the village.
