This second volume in the series starts with an in-depth discussion of Ben Hall, the first official outlaw under a new Act, shot dead by police in 1865. Other members of his gang were all captured or shot by their pursuers. Several other characters are discussed and as the last case study, Charles White examines at length the incredible story of the Kelley Gang ? Ned, Dan, Steve Hart and Joe Byrne.* A NEAR FINE copy of the 1st/1st thus with some minor faults. Reduced by dust jacket fading, (now in protective wrapper), to VG++.* Vol 2 of 2

Sinopse

Emmeline, The Orphan of the Castle is the first novel published by English writer Charlotte Turner Smith. A Cinderella story in which the heroine stands outside the traditional economic structures of English society and ends up wealthy and happy, the novel is a fantasy. At the same time, it criticizes the traditional marriage arrangements of the eighteenth century, which allowed women little choice and prioritized the needs of the family.
