N.P.: Edgewood Publishing Co., 1888. Undated, ca. 1888. Identifies women who participated in the Civil War in a variety of ways, with individual descriptions of their lives and deeds. Attractively bound in pictorial red cloth printed in gilt and black, frontis engraving, 531 pages. Likely an early reprint, with only the one illustration despite Illustrated being stated on the title page and cover. Fair to good condition with some cover spottine and wear, mainly to the corners and spine ends, hinges internally reglued and secure, text block sound, pages age-browned and brittle with a couple of upper page corners chipped, name and 1898 date on preliminary blank, no other markings. . Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
