Publishers' deep royal blue cloth with gilt titles to spine and upper board and tower motif blocked in gilt to upper board; ribbon placemarker; unclipped cream pictorial dust-jacket. Signed by the Author, without dedication, to title page. From the library of collector Malcolm Henderson, with his bookplate loosely inserted. A Fine copy in like jacket. Ten adventures of occult detective Ralph Tyler, three of which are previously unpublished, including two written especially for this collection, and all previously uncollected in book form. Inspired by earlier detectives such as Carnacki the Ghost-Finder by William Hope Hodgson and Algernon Blackwood's John Silence, Tyler is from an obscure corner of England and unlike the others has no private source of income or any special esoteric knowledge. Scarce.
