The first US edition of this illustrated travel memoir of Lewis Mariano Nesbitt's journey to Abyssinia, enclosed in the very scarce original dust wrapper. A fascinating and detailed travel memoir of Lewis Mariano Nesbitt's journeys through Abyssinia in the early twentieth century. Including chapters on Addis Ababa, Wara Malka, Galalu Plain, and more. The first US edition of this work. Illustrated with a large folding map to the front and twenty-one plates. Collated and complete. Enclosed in the very scarce original dust wrapper. Containing a the bookplate of Clinton E. Geiser to the front pastedown and a previous owner's ink inscription to one of the front blanks. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with some light shelf wear and light bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Some fading and a few light stains to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper has some light wear, and some loss to the head of the front of the wrap. Slight sunning to the wrap and some light spots to the rear of the wrap. Containing a the bookplate of Clinton E. Geiser to the front pastedown and a previous owner's ink inscription to one of the front blanks. Internally, front hinge is lightly strained. Remaining binding is generally firm. A small closed tear to the folding map, amateurly repaired with tape. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
