Light edge wear to outer joints, small corner (1 inch square) missing from the bottom outer corner of the front free endpaper; overall, a tight, bright and clean copy in near fine condition.. Pp. xv, 519; frontispiece woodcut plate of Wick Harbor; 50 text-figures (all from woodcuts). Publisher's original forest green cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine and with three panel lines at the head and foot of the spine, lg 8vo. The chapters cover the following topics: fish life and growth, fish commerce, fish culture, anglers' fishes, natural and economic history of the salmon, natural and economic history of the Herring, white-fish fisheries, natural and economic history of the oyster, our shell-fish fisheries and the fisher folk. No ownership marks and only a few signs of use.

We only sell books through our NHB website and other book service websites. We do not offer books for sale within the state of Iowa.We specialize in rare and hard to find books in all areas of natural history especially ornithology, herpetology, ichthyology, mammalogy, paleontology, botany, evolutionary biology and travel and exploration. Our rare and hard-to-find book section has many fine hand-colored plate books. Our latest acquisition is the ichthyology and aquarium fish collection of Ross Socolof Books of Florida.
