Sobre este item

London: B. T. Batsford, 1909. Cloth. Very Good Indeed. 8.5" by 6". Not Stated. A beautiful illustrated work detailing the architectural development of English homes between 1100 and 1800. This work explores the history of English houses, starting from Norman keeps, through various eras and style including medieval, Jacobean and Elizabethan.John Alfred Gotch (1852-1942) was an English architectural historian, with an interest in particular in Elizabethan and Jacobean architecture. He was Vice-President of the Royal Institute of British Architects.Lavishly illustrated throughout with vignette photographs and diagrams. In the publisher's original full cloth binding with gilt embellishment to the spine and cover. Externally very smart, with a little bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Ownership bookplates to the front pastedown and endpaper. Internally, firmly bound, pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
