Sobre este item
London and New York: London Stereoscopic Company, 1861. Beautifully hand-colored stereoviews of 2 of the oldest Cistercian Abbeys: Tintern Abbey (Wales, established 1131) and Fountains Abbey (Yorkshire, 1132). The views of Tintern are numbers 425, 431A, and 432; the Fountains Abbey views are numbers 214. 215, and 217. They apparently were published for the American market. Four of them carry the blindstamp of the London Stereoscopic Company's New York Gallery at 534 Broadway--the company moved away from that location in 1862. All of the images are clean and bright on mounts that have minimal faint soiling on the verso.. Early Printing. Paper. Collectible-Fine-. 3 1/4" by 6 7/8". Photo.
