Sobre este item

New York: Little, Brown, and Company, 1960. This Stated First American Edition is in Fine condition with a Very Good Plus dust jacket (see photo). It has green covers with blue spine lettering. The binding is tight and secure, the pages white and sparkling throughout. The dust jacket has light edge rubbing. It has the original $3.75 price printed on the front flap, which has been crossed out and a lower price added in ink. I've placed the dust jacket into a Brodart protective sleeve. The book contains four richly textured novellas by H.E. Bates, including An Aspidistra in Babylon, A Month by the Lake, A Prospect of Orchards, and The Grapes of Paradise. The book measures 5 1/2 by 8 1/4 inches and includes 239 pages.. Hard Cover. Fine/Very Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Chap Book.

bates is one of my favorite authors, and this collection of short stories did not disappoint. It's just a shame that not many people in the US have heard of him
