First edition, first printing. xvi, 260pp plus sections of black and white plate illustrations. In bright green cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Boards just a little rounded on corners and spine tips. A couple of small, mild marks on front free endpaper, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original dust jacket, lightly rubbed and bumped at edges and joints, short closed tear at spine base, mild shelf wear. The adventures of Tarzan sem less exotic when one reads the true story of Fred Merfield's life among the gorillas of the West African forests.
