Adapted from the Horizon Book of Lost Worlds by the editors of Horizon Magazine 4to size pictorial hardcover; 180 pages including index with numerous black and white and color photographs Contents include: Egypt Mesopotamia The Strange World of Indus Valley Crete: The Island of Minos Mycenae: Home of Gods and Heroes The Vanished Worlds of Anatolia Eturia Cambodia The Riddle of the Maya From back cover: "Here is a fascinating volume about once important civilizations that disappeared from the earth: the Egyptians, the Mesopotamians, the Indus Valley people, the Minoans of Crete, the Myceneans of Greece, the peoples of Anatolia, the Etruscans, the Far Eastern Khmers, and the New World Maya." Golden Books of this period have a lamination film which is peeling and chipped. Bumped and worn head and heel of spine and corners and a two inch tear to spine seam on front. There are pencil marks on bottom of book, a stray pen mark on outside covers and names written on fep and inside front cover. There is a small spot on fep. Family historians: the names in the book are Anne and Stephen McEvoy. . Pictorial Cover. Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
