W & R Chambers, 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. No Edition Stated. 324 pages. No dust jacket. Pictorial cloth covered boards. Four colour illustrated plates by Harold C. Earnshaw. Pages with noticeable foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Some cracking to hinges and gutters. Binding loose, however pages remain attached. Some page corners folded and with mild tears. Larger tears to top edge of pages 277-280. Text is unaffected. Plates remain bright and clean with minor marks. Occasional thumb-markings. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and crushing, fraying and tearing to spine ends and edges. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is dulled but remains brighter on front. Minor water staining to fore edge of front board. Boards are slightly bowed. Book has slight forward lean.
