Ink inscription to the front free end paper.The third book in the series featuring explorer-soldier Captain Lorrington "Gimlet" King and his comrades. This series was published during and after the Second World War, and many of the books are also set during this time. Major 'Gimlet' Champion, one of Johns' commanding officers during his flying career, is considered to be the inspiration for the main character. In this novel, Copper, Cub and Trapper investigate the disappearance of Gimlet, who had travelled to Scotland to view some property he had inherited. Externally, cloth is very smart and bright, with a couple of small bumps to the boards, and a little fading to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
