A First Edition, First Printing from 1952 (not a modern reprint), this hardcover book has burgundy cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to front & spine & a paper pastedown to front cover showing a happy fisherman with his catch, drawn by the author in a Norman Rockwell mid-century style; endpapers & similar drawings throughout the 287 pages of text. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, binding straight & strong, pages creamy white with mild tanning to edges. Very modest rubbing to both ends of spine, slightly bumped corners.
