Sobre este item
2nd revised edition. Text in German and English. From the Preface: "C/O Berlin is presenting Fred Herzog in the first major public exhibition of his work to be held in Germany, for which reason we have chosen to focus on the period from the fifties through the seventies."
"Herzog's photographs demonstrate that color photography is not the addition of color to a traditional black-and-white approach but an autonomous means of expression. although Herzog's use of color was initially intended as a clarifying tool in documentary photographs, it can be seen as an early example of the unique pictorial qualities and possibilities of the medium of color photography. His virtuosic handling of color is early evidence that the medium of color photography is governed by its own principles, and that color is just as important for the impact of a photograph as its composition and content." (Claudia Gochmann)
