Leaves are a cream paper color. Heavily illustrated with black and white photographs and artifacts throughout. Dustjacket is in purple, gray and black color themes and contains multiple black and white photographs on the front and back covers. Contains biographical information on seven great actresses from the 1940's, specifically, Lauren Bacall, Susan Hayward, Ida Lupino, Virginia Mayo, Ann Sheridan, Esther Williams, and Jane Wyman. The book's dedication page honors Betty Grable. Indexed. 463 pp. <br><br>FROM THE DUST JACKET: "Each of these Forties Gals is given a chapter of her own, complete with the details of her life and career and illustrated with numerous beautiful photographs. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, he is a member of the New York Bar. Stanke of San Francisco has interviewed more than 40 film and stage personalities, and his articles about these luminaries have appeared in motion picture journals from coast to coast.
