ESTC T203962 where the pagination matches - also another entry at N32423 which seems very similar. Staining to the margins throughout. Ink owner's name to the front free end paper and also the second page of text. Another name scribbled out in ink to the ffep. The outer tip of page 113/4 has been torn away and this affects a couple of lines of numbers. Light browning throughout, some spotting. Ink and pencil writing to the rear end papers. In old unlettered full leather which has some wear..

In old half leather, but front board detached and rear board only holding on by a cord. Ink stamped owner's name of J Restraux Jun [?] to the front free end paper. Pages 31/2 have the outer upper corner cut away and there is a tear in the page at 397/8..

Modern ink owner's name to the upper outer corner of the title page. Plates stained throughout, pages spotted and stained also. Modern rebind in paper covered boards and paper spine - retaining the original printed paper label to the front board. ESTC T155523 where the publication date is supplied as [1760] - just three locations given..

Olive green cloth with gilt stamped borders and lettering; top edges gilt. a George Hood watercolor print has been pasted to the front panel and another serves as the colored frontis. Illustrated throughout with reproduced prints and photographs. The gilt spine lettering is faded and has lost about half of the intensity. The interior has a starting front hinge, else, is in very good condition.

This is a special Collector's Edition Easton Press printing (with white bookmark) bound in leather, illustrated by Bob Eggleton with an introduction by Charles Sheffield. Niven and Pournelle's classic science-fiction tale in a Very Fine copy. Hardcover, but no dust jacket, so novel cannot be protected by archival Mylar cover.
