Edward Hamilton (1815-1903) was an English physician and early exponent of homeopathy. Along with the first British homeopathic physician Frederic Hervey Foster Quin, he played a role in the founding of the London Homeopathic Hospital in 1851.
Henry Sowerby (1825-1891) was an artist and lithographer, grandson of botanical artist James Sowerby. From 1854, he worked as a gold miner, mining engineer and art tutor in Australia.
Charlotte Caroline Sowerby (1820-1865) was a British artist and granddaughter of botanical artist James Sowerby. She also worked on Henderson's Illustrated Bouquet (1857-1864).
Green watermarked silk binding coming loose from spine, lacking 2cm segments from top and bottom. A few signatures coming loose, some plates and text pages with spots, dust to edges, chips.
