London: Jarrolds,, [1948]. First edition, first impression, of the author's continuation of No Orchids for Miss Blandish, which was published in 1939. A film adaptation, La Chair de l'orchidée, was produced in France in 1975. Octavo. Original yellow cloth, spine lettered in black. With dust jacket. Housed in a custom black cloth folding chemise within black half morocco slipcase, spine lettered in gilt, black cloth sides. A very good copy in the dust jacket, lightly creased and chipped at extremities, faintly soiled, faint stain to verso at foot.
