The first edition. In the publisher's original cloth with the original clipped dust wrapper. This essay was written by poet, anthropologist and critic, John Press. This work features an essay on how poetry grows and is shaped in the mind. This work is one of many essays where he discusses the subject of poetry and was followed by Press's Heinemann Award winning work 'The Chequer'd Shade: Reflections on Obscurity in Poetry'. In the original publisher's cloth with the original clipped dust wrapper. Externally excellent with very light offsetting from the title from the dust wrapper to the front board. Offsetting and light spotting to the end papers. The wrap is generally smart with sunning to the spine, the odd mark and chip and minor closed tear. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages. Light spotting to the fore edge. Very Good Indeed
