Sobre este item
Yale University Press, 1973. 1st Edition. Soft cover. Very Good. Fifth printing. Inscribed to fellow Bay Area poet Jim LeCuyer on the title page: For Jim, best, Bob Hass. Winner of the Yale Younger award, sending Hass off on a great career that culminated in a turn as Poet Laureate and finally a Pulitzer and National Book Award. Very good plus with some light scuffs (mostly noticeable on the rear cover), a lightly bumped lower corner, and one bump/minor indentation to the front covers outer edge near its top corner. Along with Hasss beard in the author photo, an old bookseller sticker on rear adds to the atmosphere. A great read and important first book.

Sobre Rural Hours
Rural Hours (formerly Wood + River = Books, est. 2019) specializes in ecology, natural history, nature writing, the environment, environmental literature, and contemporary essay, with a special passion for association copies and notable inscriptions. We draw our name from the popular-but-then-forgotten book by Susan Fenimore Cooper (published in 1850), generally considered the first work of environmental creative nonfiction by a woman in the U.S. We are interested in challenging and expanding the canon of environmental literature and finding books that tell remarkable stories and illuminate the tradition of writing about place and natural history.
