Ventura: John Anthony Miller Studio, 2018. I offer a new rendition for the 50th Anniversary edition.to replace the boring black, red and white cover of the 50th Anniversary edition. Now, The Master of Letters and Maestro of The Metaphor commands you to buy this!!! ;-) He wants his book to look GOOD! This particular rendition was done after and in the style the 1953 hardback edition after the fantastic Joseph Mugnaini dust jacket art. I added a few modifications to bring it up to speed, like the modified title and new publisher. I left the rest along, as much as possible to reflect the spirit of the original 1953 first edition. Ray Bradbury himself APPROVED this design and ordered a stack of these jackets to give out to friends. This is the way the book should have been issued 50 years later! This jacket will fit all the 2003 printings to date of the hardbacks --- which are 8-3/4 inches tall. The way the book issued, the 50th Anniversary Edition, was dull and boring, this will fit over it, or on the book. Looks great! The jacket is signed on the back by myself, in pencil. Many famous authors and celebrities signed there and was a top favorite bookshop of Ray Bradbury's. We specialize used and rare books, unusual material and signed books with an emphasis on the unique, sci fi and fantasy, first editions, scientific and medical. We also have a nice selection of high quality facsimile dust jackets done etching and engraving artist John Anthony Miller (all jackets are marked tastefully that they are facsimile jackets, printed on high quality non acidic paper using the finest inks that will last a lifetime with care). Phantom Bookshop relocated in 2000 as an internet business.
