There is no dust jacket (probably as designed). Overall condition is GOOD PLUS. Pages (designs on first and last fep's as well as front and back reverse covers) = Good: foxing throughout, owner's stamp used on many of the early pages, ink stains page 162, else no tearing or chipping, tight, sharp, clear print, no additional marks. Original brown cloth decorated in gilt and blind (spine perished with boards pulling away; heavy wear to edges of boards; owner's ink signature and pencil inscription - Dec. 25th, 1842, Philadelphia, of Lavinia Horstmann- plates subtly browning with occasional foxing to text).
