This work features a collection of essays by the noted Philosopher and statesman Francis Bacon. This volume features the fifty-eight essays that were featured in Bacon's original work titled 'Essayes or Counsels, Civill and Morall' which was first published in 1625. The essays cover a range of topics such as religion, Parents, nobility, friendship and education. Bound in a full crushed morocco binding. Endpapers and blanks renewed, retaining half title. Externally lovely with only slight fading to the spine. Minimal offsetting to the extremities of the endpapers. Internally firmly bound bright and generally clean pages with the odd spot. Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
