"The English" explains humorously modern (1968) English attitudes toward Sin, Politics, Money, Love, Food, Class, Authority, Women, the Midday Sun--toward everything that makes an Englishman a 'mad dog' still. White quarter cloth gilt lettered over red boards, very bright, clean and unmarked; spine head slightly brownish on very end, spine tail has quarter inch brown rim and is compressed. No wear to corners. Tight, solid and square. Rough cut. Interior very clean, no marks or tears, pages moderately toned. Blue dust jacket , unclipped, with the red English lion and flag, is worn, rubbed but clean, with edgewear, chipping at spine head/tail and some corners. Mylar protective cover. 255 pages.5.8 x 8.6 inches. Stein and Day, NY 1968.
