Toronto: Longmans, Green, 1942. 48 pp, 7 5/8" H. The main poem in this volume, 'This England', speaks of the qualities for which the nation was fighting at the time (WWII) of writing. It is preceded by a poetic tribute to Winston Churchill and followed by a collection of sonnets (including: Easter in Wartime, On Seeing an Autumn Ploughman, On Returning from a Discussion on Greece, The Astronomers). Browning to pages and edges of text block, small edge tear archivally taped on rear free endpaper. Dust jacket has light browning on spine, hinges, front panel, flap-folds, and flap top edges; light water stain at bottom of spine; two tears archivally taped; very small chips and wear at top/bottom of flap-folds; light rubbing.. Hard Cover. Very Good-/Good.
