Made into a powerful Steven Spielberg directed movie that starred a young Christian Bale along with John Malkovich and Miranda Richardson. A tight near fine copy in paper covered boards with a cloth spine with some of the usual toning to the pages in a very good dust jacket with some ill-adviced touch ups to and minor tape repairs to the verso. Presents very well.
Sinopse
Empire of the Sun is a 1984 novel by J. G. Ballard which was awarded the James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Like Ballard's earlier short story, "The Dead Time" (published in the anthology Myths of the Near Future), it is essentially fiction but draws extensively on Ballard's experiences in World War II. Ballard later wrote a sequel, entitled The Kindness of Women.
