Hurd and Houghton,, 1864.. First Edition. hardcover. GOOD. Small (5.2"x7.4") dark brown cloth hardcover with leather spine and tips of corners, spine has 4 raised bands boarderd in gold, title in gold on spine, 437pp, brown endpapers. Apparent first printing (1864 on copyright page and title page, no additional printings indicated). Ex library as shown by empossments on front and back cover, small stamp opposite the title page, bookplate inside the front cover, and remanants of large sticker inside the rear cover (no marks on spine). Cover is quite attractive, with moderate wear only on corners and slight wear at top and bottom of spine. Endpapers split at hinges but cover still firmly held.
