Archibald Constable and Company, Edinburgh, and Cadell and Davies, London, 1816, volume II, second edition; 8vo, pp xv, 595 plus errata sheet; early quarter dark green cloth gilt, light green paper boards; covers somewhat rubbed, binding tight and firm; some scattered foxing but overall in good condition. Stewart's works titled "On the Philosophy of the Human Mind" appeared in three volumes widely separated in time, being published in 1792, 1814 and 1827, each thereby linked but complete individually. A student of Thomas Reid Stewart later became Professor of Moral Philosophy at Edinburgh University and played a major part in developing the growing reputation of Scottish philosophy through Europe in the early 19th century.
