Ignace-Gaston Pardies was a 17th-century French scientist who wrote numerous scientific works on horology, optics, physics, mechanics, and geometry. In 1671, Pardies published his 'Elements of Geometry' which served as an introductory study into geometry following the ancient discoveries of Euclid, Archimedes, and Appolonius. Pardies incorporates in-text geometric sketches throughout the book.
