An account of the progress of the Belgian National League Against the Veneral Perils fight against syphilis, by its president, Professor Adrien Bayet (1863-1935), delivered on December 8, 1928, and published in 1929. The League had held its first conference in the great hall of Brusellss Palais des Académies on October 8, 1922, with its founding patron, Elisabeth, Queen of Belgium, and various other dignitaries in attendance, to address the spread of syphilis in Belgium in the aftermath of the First World War. This is a finely printed first edition of historian Grinnell's biography of the North brothers, American scouts who worked alongside indigenous Pawnee scouts to defend the route of the Union Pacific railroad from raids. A fascinating, uncommon volume in excellent condition.

A scene in a cake shop, with two ladies taking their departure after eating from two dandies, both of whom declare themselves unable to pay the bill. The two ladies thank the lads for "nice cakes." Women behind the counter says, "your sugar plums Sir that makes nine and six pence." The young man complain they have neither a brass or a copper to pay for their largess. Chips with some loss at head and nick at upper left margin.

Nason was a print maker from Lyme, Connecticut, known as the "poet engraver of New England." Nason became known for his poetic and somber observations of the rural New England landscape. According to a statement on the reverse, this is a limited edition for members of the Society of Pring Connoisseurs of Alexandria, Virginia.

Handsome, high-quality glossy modern reproduction of a candid WW2-era shot of a smiling Walsh standing in front of his plane, inscribed and signed boldly in black fineline at left center: "Ken Walsh CMH / Lt Col USMC (Ret.) / VMF-124 & 222 / 21- Victories." This is accompanied by an 11" X 14" print, a 1991 reproduction of a pencil portrait of Walsh, his fighter plane and his Medal of Honor, boldly signed in pencil at lower right by noted aviation artist Lonnie Ortega. First edition, stated, of this exceedingly scarce Hank Winton juvenile mystery set in the Northern Rocky Mountains of Montana, showcasing the U.S. Forest Service, Forest fires, and early parachuting smokejumpers. Atwater (1904-1976) born in Baker City, OR, and Harvard grad, worked as a Montana racher and trapper, forest ranger, and was WWII 10th Mountain Division veteran. Later through his work at Wasatch National Forest, he became known as the father of the Snow Avalanche work in the U.S., and this title has become very scarce.
