8vo size green clothbound hardcover with dark green title blocks and gilt titles and decorations; 270 toned pages Circa 1946: title page with publication information is missing. Book has, interestingly, two half title pages. Edward Kavanaugh (1795 - 1844) was a United States politician. He served as state representative and senator in Maine, was a United States Congressman, and was the 17th Governor of Maine. He was the first Catholic from New England to be elected to national office. Ex-library with typical treatments. Some adhesive residue on top corner of front cover where barcode sticker was removed. Title page is missing. Edgewear, bumped and worn head and heel of spine and corners. Fep clipped to move barcode. Some residue on fep and inside covers of previous treatments. Pages 14 and 15 have some light soil or fingermarks in the margins and there is scratch in the margin of page 15. . Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
