Publisher's tan cloth with bordered color paste-on on the front with titles in two-color. 8vo; 9.5 inches tall; 280 pages; fully illustrated with intext and margin drawings in three-colors by Jane Allen Boyer. There are 10 pockets each with tissue doll patterns - all complete. First Edition, First Printing.
The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear with some fading of the cloth; the spine has darkened with pushed tips. A difficult book to locate and rarely in such nice condition.. Designed to capture the imagination of every little girl who will find the pleasures and rewards of sewing.
This is the second book in the Mary Frances series. It's all about sewing for beginners. An exceptionally clever and fascinating story of a little girl who wanted to sew and how her grandmother's sewing bird and all their other sewing tools show her how.
