The Folio Society produced the first uniform edition of Trollope's novels in the 1980s and 1990s, before the entire text of "The Duke's Children" had ever been published. The opportunity to publish the very first edition of the novel in its entirety was offered by The Trollope Society to the Folio Society to mark Trollope's bicentenary in 2015, and the restored text is accompanied by a "Commentary" volume relating the full story of how the work had been cut then restored, with other helpful notes. The novel is lavishly bound in a Victorian style binding as it is effectively a Victorian First Edition, with an Introduction by the Author's descendant Joanna Trollope.
