London: Victor Gollancz, 1958., 1958. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable. 1958. Second Impression. 272 pages. Dust jacket over red cloth with gilt lettering. Light tanning to otherwise clear pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers, with visible thumb marks also present to these areas. Binding remains firm with mild creasing to gutters. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild sunning and scuffing overall. Spine has slightly heavier sunning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Clipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate water staining, tanning and scuffing overall.

Sinopse

Elaine Dundy (1921—2008) was born in New York City, and lived in Paris and London. She was married for a time to theater critic Kenneth Tynan. She wrote plays, novels, and biographies, including Elvis and Gladys and Life Itself! Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Esquire, and Vogue among other publications. Her novel, The Dud Avocado , was re-published by NYRB Classics in 2007.
