Octavo (19cm); teal cloth, with titles stamped in gilt on spine; brown topstain; dustjacket and original wraparound band; [iv],252pp. Faint foxing to text edges and endpapers, else Near Fine. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced 11s.6d. net), gently spine-sunned, with wear and small tears to spine ends, and some scattered foxing on verso; Very Good+. Wraparound band lightly edgeworn, with a vertical fold at center, else quite well-preserved. Green's final novel, in which a husband and wife married for 22 years have, by amicable arrangement, been seeing other people separately. Drama ensues when the husband decides to start going out with a girl 25 years his junior.

Sinopse

Henry Green was the pen name of Henry Vincent Yorke. He was born in 1905 at the family home of his parents, near Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, England, and was educated at Eton and Oxford. He worked at the family engineering firm for most of his life and pursued a parallel career as a novelist. He married in 1929 and had one son. During WWII he served for the duration in the London Fire Brigade. He died in December 1973.
