Octavo (19cm); teal cloth, with titles stamped in gilt on spine; dustjacket; 252pp. Vintage bookseller's label to front pastedown with a tiny rubbed spot to upper fore-edge, else Fine in a Fine dustjacket, unclipped, with a handful of pinpoint rubs. Green's final novel, in which a husband and wife married for 22 years have, by amicable arrangement, been seeing other people separately. Drama ensues when the husband decides to start going out with a girl 25 years his junior. A striking copy.

Sinopse

Henry Green was the pen name of Henry Vincent Yorke. He was born in 1905 at the family home of his parents, near Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire, England, and was educated at Eton and Oxford. He worked at the family engineering firm for most of his life and pursued a parallel career as a novelist. He married in 1929 and had one son. During WWII he served for the duration in the London Fire Brigade. He died in December 1973.
