An uncommon first UK edition of the work. First published in the USA by Random House in 1965. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. This work of military fiction was written by American author E. M. Nathanson, otherwise known as Erwin Nathanson. This work tells the story of 12 criminals who are sent on a suicide mission just before D- Day. This story was later adapted into a film directed by Robert Aldrich in 1967 under the same title.
