Sobre este item
Tokyo: Nippon Bunka Chuo Renmei, 1940. Book. Fine. Illustrated Wraps in Chemise. First Edition. First Edition. 10 volumes in decoratively illustrated chemise with ties and ivory fasteners. The correspondence course is in four parts which are monotone, pink, lavender, green and orange illustrated wrappers . The "Pamphlets" are in brilliantly multicolored illustrated wrappers of delicate hand made paper, each with a pictorial central illustration surrounded by color floral motifs and bound with bright colored silk ribbon ties. Each of the "course" parts is approximately 40-50 pages and each of the "pamphlets" is approximately 16-20 pages. All are generously illustrated throughout with full page black and white photographs of the arrangements. A beautiful fragile collection of finely produced pamphlets covering mlutiple phases of the art of flower arranging, including, Ikebana, Nae-Ire, Moribana, Kansui-ike and Ikenobo, as well as a history of the art. Single page table of contents included. This set is in excellent condition with all of the "course" pamphlets crisp, square, stiff, unmarked and unread with flat uncreased spines and virtually as new. A couple of the "pamphlets" have very shallow nicks or chips to the fragile edges but they are also all in fine condition. The chemise shows some rubbing and dulling to the outside decoration but the inside decoration is unmarred as is the Japanese title label. A Very Fine to very near fine set in a very good plus chemise. Lovely, fragile and SCARCE..
