The opposing point of view is expressed by an economist who has argued that when we examine individual items in which progress is most evident, ' the trail leads not to the doors of those firms that worked under conditions of free competition but precisely to the doors of large concerns.'. These two positions advance diametrically opposed causal relationships between industrial structure on one hand and performance results on the other." -- from the front fold over blurb.
