Octavo (8 1/2 by 6 1/4 inches) New York: The Knickerbocker Press, 1917. Original First Edition. x, 169 pages, illustrated with 25 black and white photographs on 15 plates, decorated green cloth, title in gilt on upper cover and spine; vignette incorporating the image of a hunter shooting ducks on the upper cover with title, good condition (normal shelf wear to edges, missing front fly leaf, neither affecting contents which are complete and intact). Rare.
A collection of reminiscences of the author's shooting experiences, and his enjoyment of the outdoors: "Shooting Ducks With Captain Bogardus . . . ," "My First Flintlock," "Green Frogs and a Bottle of Beer (Bear River Series)," "A Few Ducks and Jimmy's Trip to California," and other selections from his Bear River Series," plus "Gathering Birds' Eggs, Florida."
