Paris: Imprimerie Lahure, 1928. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Text in French. Illustrated in black and white. Two auction catalogues rebound in one volume. Half cloth spine binding with marbled heavy paper boards. Gilt title on spine. Original soft front and back cover preserved. Spine head, foot slightly rubbed and covers outside corners slightly worn. A few foxing. Internally clean, tight, and very good. Illustrated with 20 full page multiple plates, 25 pages text, auction catalogues of exhibitions held at the "Hotel Drouot" in Paris, 1928. 146 lots collection of M. Robert Ochse and M. Fauchier-Magnan, including Chinese ceramics from Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing (Kangxi period) dynasties, Chinese hard stones such as jade, rock crystal and amethyst, Chinese turquoise ornaments from Ming and Qing Dynasties (Kangxi, Qianlong period), and others. In the second catalogue, page designation and page 11 have been printed twice. Interestingly both pages content slightly differ. Hotel Drouot is a large auction house in Paris, known for fine art, antiques, and antiquities. It consists of 16 halls hosting 70 independent auction firms, which operate under the umbrella grouping of Drouot. The firm's main location, called Drouot-Richelieu, is situated on the Rue Drouot in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, on a site once occupied by the Paris Opera's Salle Le Peletier. In 2008 Hotel Drouot was ranked fifth by sales amongst Paris auction houses, after Sotheby's, Christie's, Artcurial, and Ader-Picard-Tajan. Size: 7.7x11.2x0.5 inches. 45 pages.
