HARDCOVER, bound in the original publisher's green half calf and elaborately decorated black pebbled boards, spine richly decorated in gilt ornamental motifs, large central gilt cartouche on each side within blind embossed ornamental frame, cover with large gilt lettering; spine-ends and corner-tips worn, some tissue-guards spotted. A very good copy with fine plates, practically all in superb condition and free of any foxing. ~ FIRST EDITION, the rare "Black Edition". X-2
