Bound in the publisher's original pictorial cloth. Written by American historian and novelist, Edward Eggleston, known for his works of historical fiction, such as this novel. 'The Circuit Rider' is an exciting, heroic tale set in the Midwest of America. Eggleston based this novel partly on his own experiences growing up, presenting an adventure-filled, yet realistic view of this life. Illustrated with a frontispiece and thirty additional illustrations. Collated, complete.With the bookplate and signature of Henry A. Kidder, an American bank founder, establishing Kidder, Peabody & Co. in 1865.Seven pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. Bound in the publisher's original pictorial cloth. Externally, very smart, with light rubbing and a little bumping to the extremities. Slight fading to the spine, with the odd mark to the cloth. Bookplate to the front paste down. Internally, firmly bound. Pages a little age toned, but clean. Ink inscription to the first blank. Very Good Indeed

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
